On Heschel's Legacy
Upon the opening of the Heschel Archives here at Duke, it is important that we take a moment to consider the legacy of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, both as one of the leading theologians and philosophers of the 20th century, and also as one of the foremost human rights activists in the United States throughout the Civil Rights era. This symposium strives to look at Heschel's legacy from the viewpoints of two of the major Jewish traditions in the diaspora, as well as Scholars across confessional lines. We look forward to you joining us for this special event.
