This course surveys Israeli culture from the late 1940s to present day. It examines Israeli fiction, cinema, popular music, food, and visual culture and explores the major themes that preoccupy cultural workers, including ethnicity, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, gender, class, the Jewish Holocaust, religion and secularism.
