Jewish Studies Capstone I

JEWISHST 393

This course gives students the opportunity to apply and extend what they have learned in their Jewish Studies courses in pursuing their own research project under faculty supervision. A proposal for directed research should include a detailed outline of the research problem, a brief description of the state of the field, and a bibliography. The capstone should result in a substantive, well-written research paper or an equivalent final product. The supervising faculty will typically be a Jewish Studies faculty but the Director may approve exceptions. Students pursuing GWD in Jewish Studies typically take 393 in the fall and 394 in the spring. Funding for undergraduate research is prioritized for students enrolled in a capstone.
